Tragedy struck Irongate on New Years Eve. Our handsome dog UKC Champion Fairoaks Bold Defender lost his life in a freak accident. Fen had just earned his champion title in November. We had such wonderful plans and high hopes for this awesome young dog. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him for a long time to come.
Merit whelped a beautiful litter of 7 on January 19, 2012. There are some of every color. Pictures are now posted. Please select Merit's page to see them. Contact us if you might be interested in one of these super little guys. Deposits are now being accepted. After evaluation Irongate will be keeping one and possibly two of the puppies.
Irongate temperament and herding instinct tests our puppies at 7 weeks of age. The temperament testing aids us in placing our babies in just the right homes. We also offer discounted puppy training classes with a professional trainer in Tulsa to all of our puppy buyers.
Irongate is excited to introduce our new show puppy MPossible Xecutor Of Irongate. Xec is a natural and has shown very well in the 3 events of his short 6 months of life. Xec competed in his first AKC conformation show in Rose Glen, TX January 6-8th. He won his class all three days. We are so proud of him and are very excited to see how this fantastic little guy progresses.
Judge competed in his first ever obedience trial in Elk City in Sept. He did very well for his first trial. He also passed his Canine Good Citizen test.
Ricky, our black tri won his classes and three Reserve Male ribbons at the UKC show in Tulsa. This was Ricky's very first show and we are so pleased with his achievements. Ricky also passed his Canine Good Citizen test.Treasure earned a First Place and a 2nd Place in Chickasha. Treasure is a lovely black tri 4 year old.

We at Irongate love our dogs and love this breed. The Australian Shepherd is such a well balanced multi-purpose dog. Not only are they fantastic working dogs but they make loving, loyal companions and guardians. Aussies are very intelligent and athletic and are easily trained. With appropriate training the Australian Shepherd will excel in all arenas; obedience, agility, conformation, working trials, or as a great family pet and ranch dog. Because Aussies are working dogs they are high energy and need lots of exercise and "jobs" to perform. Therefore, they are not for everyone. The jobs can be something as simple and fun as playing ball or fetch. The dog will see it as a job instead of a game and will take it very seriously. Irongate is dedicated to the preservation and improvement of this wonderful breed. We strive to produce dogs that conform to the breed standard and are able to perform the tasks for which they were bred.
